After spending a few days at Denali National Park, we headed south towards Kenai Fjords National Park. The drive down to Seward was incredible. So many “picture perfect Alaska landscapes” to take photos of, including the Alaska train.
We setup camp and then headed to the Exit Glacier area. They had signs setup to designate where the glaciers ended and what year.
Kenai Fjords Tour
The highlight of this trip was our boat trip into the National Park. Most of the park is only accessible by water, so we took a trip on the Kenai Fjords Tours boat. The service was incredible, the education great and the views were unbeatable.
After the tour, we stayed another night in Seward. The next day we headed back to Anchorage to fly back to Oklahoma.
Accident
As we were heading up Seward Highway, we stopped a few times for photos. A tour bus and some other vehicles passed by us. Unfortunately they were involved in a fatal collision about 30 miles up the road. This closed the road down and we missed our flights. Luckily Delta was accommodating and got us on flights the next day so we stayed at the Hilton in Anchorage.
