Severe Storms in South Central Oklahoma

Chase Recap:

Steve Miller, Hans Schroeder, Aaron Tuttle and I chased in South Central Oklahoma on the 8th, not bagging much. We originally went down and sat in Ardmore before deciding we needed to punch west a bit more towards Waurika.

I had issues with my inverter and power, and gave up and shut off my laptop at this point.

We sat under the initiation point for awhile, watching one cell blow up overhead before heading back east and then north on I-35 to intercept the cell which had gone up near Woodford. We didn’t see a whole lot.

After awhile, we decided to pretty much give it up, and stopped off at the roadside park to take some pictures. I managed to catch my first lightning shot, totally by accident.

Other than that, not much to speak of on this chase. It was a good last chase before heading back to Michigan.
